One two-month journey through Australia was terminated days after the tragic passing of an elderly lady who was left behind by the ship on a distant tropical isle.

The passenger had been hiking on Lizard Island with shipmates from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the excursion for a rest. The liner left without her and returned later that day after the personnel realised the passenger was not present.

A major rescue mission discovered her body the subsequent day.

Authorities are examining the incident, alongside investigators and the state coroner.

Head of the cruise operator stated that travelers and crew on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the remainder of the journey had been terminated due to the "sad loss and earlier engine troubles".

Via official communication, he added that travelers would be given a total repayment, and said the operator was working "to organize the homeward trips of the travelers via specially arranged planes".

Regulatory bodies also published an latest communication, and said they had "delivered a order to the Captain" prohibiting any further travelers from entering the ship.
