I'll overwhelm 'serious boxer' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round match which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to publicize the upcoming boxing match.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Mindset
"I will damage his features and break his body up. My goal is to show I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - typically recognized for his theatrics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I respect him for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of declaring he will damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's Background
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the television network - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
Still, the novice is still one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul declared.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really going ahead.
